Volunteer Opportunities with MCFAN
Pantry Worker:
We have three pantries in need of volunteers. HELP Pantry at Memorial Presbyterian Church and SAMS Pantry sponsored by St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 503 S. Saginaw Rd. Volunteer hours for HELP are 12:30-2:30 p.m. W, Th & F. SAMS pantry hours are 12:45-2:45 p.m. M, Tu, W. The Bullock Creek Pantry located at Messiah Lutheran volunteers pack the bags of food – their hours are T&TH 11:30-1:00. If you are interested in this opportunity, please call 486-9393 or email us.
Mobile Pantry:
Once a month MCFAN sponsors, in various locations, a mobile pantry which are food give aways feeding
around 200 families. Volunteers are needed around 8:30- 12:00. If interested, you are added to a list and the
mobile pantry coordinator notifies you of upcoming mobiles. You can sign up if you are available and if not,

Empty Bowls Event:
Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to
raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities. Participations who
come and donate will receive a handmade artisan bowl to take home along with a lunch of soup and bread.
Volunteers are needed to help with this event at the Midland Center for the Arts, 1801 W St Andrews Rd,
Saturday, October 18. Some of the tasks: Set up crew, Soup server, Soup runner, Bowl room, Bus tables,
Wayfinding, and Clean up crew. Various shifts are available from 10:30-4:30. A registration form is attached.

Warehouse:
Each week volunteers are needed on Thursday afternoons around 12:00-1:00 PM at 503 S Saginaw Rd. to meet the Hidden Harvest truck and receive donations from Hidden Harvest . If you are interested in this opportunity, please call 486-9393 or email us.
Large Food Donations:
We keep a list of volunteers that we call to sort, count and shelve food when there are large community food donations. If you are interested in this opportunity, please call 486-9393 or email us.
Canstruction Volunteer:
Area middle school and high school students will be building structures out of cans of food at the Midland
Mall, Wednesday November 5 to Sunday November 9. MCFAN will receive the food after the event is finished.
Volunteers are needed to be at the MCFAN table to sell tokens during mall hours Wednesday afternoon and
evening thru Saturday evening. Various shifts are available. We also need help on Sunday around 1:00 pm for
packing up the food.
